Detroit-born singer, songwriter, and musician, Anthony Retka has spent the last fifteen years writing and performing material that has helped etch his place in the Detroit music scene. He has toured the United States, from Nashville to St. Louis and Chicago to New York. Anthony’s independently released albums include three solo efforts alongside four full-length albums, a live double CD, and multiple EPs and Singles with his band, Tone & Niche.
Anthony recently released his most progressive work to date, “Anthony Retka’s Big Parade.” The new record features the strong vocal styling and lyrical abilities that people have come to expect from Anthony’s recordings. The record also includes the vocal and instrumental complexity of some of Michigan’s finest musicians.
In addition to the release of the new record, Retka’s song So Long, from the 2007 Tone and Niche record Rust, was recently featured on the Discovery Channel’s Dr. G: Medical Examiner.
“Anthony uses an immaculate blend of great songwriting, vocals, and guitar. He plays melodic numbers with full vocals and introspective lyrics, many of which are about love. Retka is a master of dynamics, moving between rich, strong heavy guitar bits and gentle, barely-there strumming. The diversity of his octaves is astounding; he conjures images of Radiohead one moment and Jeff Buckley the next.”

“Anthony is a true singer/songwriter – he never stops writing. One of the more poignant vocalists in Detroit. His easygoing acoustics cut to the heart, mingling with looped electrics full of yearning yarns and confessional ballads.”

Remnose: Four want-to-be Yoopers making up-north music from underneath the bridge. Think rowboats, think Lake Superior, think something.
Scott Fab: Music has been a constant force in Scott Fab’s life. In his early years Scott played drums in the Detroit punk rock scene, before moving on to songwriting and performance, armed with an acoustic guitar.
With a near-hypnotic presence, sincerity and an always-memorable performance, Scott has earned a well-deserved reputation as a genuine songsmith. Rather than reaching for sympathy or absolution, Scott disarms audiences with an almost churchlike reverence.
This level of artistry has taken Scott from coffeehouses to center stage, supporting artists such as Sheryl Crow, Patty Griffin and Grant Lee Phillips.
After a decade-long hiatus, Scott is back on stage, performing in the local Detroit area music scene and completing work on a new full-length record to be released December 2016 .
