Michelle Held Is a singer-songwriter from Detroit, Michigan, known for her captivating live performances. Her creative journey in theatre and the fine arts, lead her to the guitar and songwriting in 2011. Her unique voice, razor-sharp candor and intricate guitar style honors the past yet owns a timelessness that rings through each song. Brett Callwood of the Detroit Metro Times wrote, “It’s her voice that adds the X-Factor; that little bit of welcome strange.” Michelle performs regularly throughout Southeast Michigan with recent national performances that include Kansas City Folk Festival presented by Folk Alliance International, Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe in Galveston, Texas and Wheatland Music Festival.
“Kameryn Ogden‘s got a voice that can freeze a room. I’m not implying temperatures, I’m just saying, things stop. If there are cars revving past the venue, outside, then that white noise is deadened away and even if the clamor back at the bar may continue to murmur, that voice of her still supplants it. Like some idyllic brook, the vocal melodies always careen gracefully over a naturally augmenting bedrock of rhythm (with bass and drums provided by Will Lorenz and Kyle Shelest respectively).” [Deep Cutz]
