“I want to be a breath of fresh air to those who hear my music.”
R&B, pop, soul artist Kristian DeLayne is a vibrant singer, songwriter, musician and producer, hailing from one of music’s most treasured locations– Detroit, Michigan. Her debut album, Musically Inclined takes you on the rollercoaster of love as she merges different genres to create an eclectic collection of music. The album features singles “Stunned & Amazed”, “True Love”, and most recent “Temperature Rising” that remind you of the original house music birthed in Detroit.
Kristian’s love for music developed at a very young age and she has been site reading and playing the saxophone since 12. She grew up in a metro-Detroit Christian household of singers, where gospel music was a vital tool in molding her musical abilities and interest. Although gospel was at her forefront, she attributes her love for music to a wide range of R&B, Neo-soul, Hip-Hop and Rock artists, some of which are Lauryn Hill, Brandy, Jill Scott, Linkin Park, and Creed.
Kristian approaches music with an open mind and her songs are a reflection of her diverse musical background. “Most of the music I sing and write is inspired by my own life experiences and the life experiences of those around me. Many different people and groups have influenced and motivated me to do what I do. But my number one influence is God who gave me my gift and everything I do is a way for me to showcase that gift to the world.”
She began singing in her middle school choir but it was not until college that her hobby of singing began to evolve into a career. While receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University, she was also beginning to write and enhance her skill by taking music classes, ranging from audio recording to music theory. She went on to join the then aspiring Christian group O1ne Way where she began to cultivate her stage presence and overall musicianship. She has sung every part from tenor to soprano. Her specialized talent has landed her opportunities to work with artists such as Gwenation and BJ Jones. She performed in the stage play “Church Folk,” and has also showcased her talents at The Music Hall Jazz Café, Detroit Artist Village, Michigan State University, Paradise Music Festival and Rib’s & Soul Festival to name a few.
Kristian puts her heart and soul into everything she sings, writes, and produces. She co-owns The Music N Me Productions located in Detroit, Michigan where they create from the heart. As she grows, her love for music grows with her and that passion is evident in all of her songs.
Be on the lookout for Kristian DeLayne as she releases new music and travels the country bringing her artistry to a city near you!
Dion Price: Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, the birthplace of the motor industry, singer-songwriter Dion Price is no stranger to hard work. “I love being on the road, performing, perfecting myself as an artist and working with other so I can learn everything I can.” Since discovering his love for performing in high school, he hasn’t stopped playing in front of audiences across the US (sharing stages with artists including Juicy J, K Camp, August Alsina, Tory Lanez, Omarion, Trina, and TK Kirkland).
Dion continues to write and record his reflective R&B-infused pop for anyone seeking music with real soul and relatable content: “Music reaches out to other lives, it effects people in a deeper place and I want to contribute to that. Making music for other people is something I need to be a part of.”
His latest project “I Hope You Get This Message” aims to shine light on personal growth. “IHUGTM is a project to inspire understanding of self. The message is to boldly address your habits in order to grow. Creatively, I took on the challenge of combining everything we used to love with everything we love now. It has an old school vibe mixed with new school content, in a soulful way.”
Having toured widely in the US, Dion is now looking forward to building on his connections in the UK and continue to spread his message across the pond: “I don’t just want to make music that you listen to; I want to make music you can FEEL within every bone of your body.”
